Date: Nov. 30, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering & Policy Committee has recommended that Congresswoman Shontel Brown, who was sworn in on November 4th to represent Ohio's Eleventh Congressional District, join the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Oversight and Reform for the 117th Congress.

"Congresswoman Shontel Brown's wealth of experience in local government and proven record of fighting for working families will strengthen our Caucus and the Congress," said Speaker Nancy Pelosi. "On the Agriculture Committee, she will carry on and advance the legacy of her predecessor, Secretary Marcia Fudge, to ensure that no child in America goes to bed hungry and to promote the health and financial security of all families. She brings to the Oversight and Reform Committee a bold commitment to accountability and justice, lifting up the voices of communities of color and those who have too often been left behind government and the 21st Century Economy. As Democrats continue our work For The People, Northeast Ohio families will be well-served by the leadership of Congresswoman Brown."

The nominations will now go to the full Democratic Caucus for approval.
